Castello is a beautiful house on a hilltop in the north of tuscany. The house is divided into two appartments, that both have stunning views. One side of the house overlooks a large valley and the other side overlooks a smaller valley with a vineyard and a small creek.
the valley has plenty of nice little towns to explore, with a lot of restaurants that serve great italian food at very economical prices. The nearby castelnuovo has a weekly market and there are plenty of walking and mountain bike routes in the surroundings. The area is still not very touristy, although cities like florence, pisa and lucca can easily be visited on a day trip.
the house has been carefully restored by its dutch owners, who speak good english. The bedrooms all have windows with a view and the house has thick walls that keep it cool in summer. The wooden ceilings add to the charm of the place. Please visit the website for more pictures.
