Vacation Rental Description

what ever you want from your holiday sightseeing, walking, beach, pool, water, golf, fishing, peace and quiet, hustle and bustle or just a taste of the french way of life camp du pylone is an ideal holiday spot that is why so many return.

about the caravan

car parking is available for one car at the side of the caravan other cars would need to park away from the caravan. In the caravan you will find guide books and maps of the area and a large information folder along with recommendations of trips or activities from other guests. Please add yours to the list.

the caravan has a well equipped kitchen and barbeque, gas hob and combi microwave cooker. It has two bedrooms one double and a room with two single beds that can be placed together. The seating in the living area also can be converted into a double bed. There are mattress covers on all the mattresses, pillows and single and double duvets for all the beds. Bedding can be hired. There are two fans in the caravan and one fixed and one portable electric heater.

gas and electric is included in the price.

outside there is a patio, table, parasol, 6 chairs and two sun loungers along with a clothes drier. There is always shade from the two trees on either side of the caravan and sun from morning to late afternoon on the patio.


about the camp site

all the caravans are set in tree lined avenues giving the appearance of a small village. The site is open 12 months of the year so many people are on the site for most of the year and keep their caravans and gardens well tended.
the use of cars on the site is restricted to one way and there are speed bumps and speed restrictions making it ideal for families.

on site you will find a french restaurant run by christian and annalis with both a la carte and set menus starting at approx 14 euros and chef’s specials to wet anyone’s appetite.
there is also a take away serving amongst other things the meal of the day from the restaurant along with freshly prepared oven baked pizzas.

the restaurant and bar are the hub of the site and entertainment is available free of charge during the peak season with an indoor disco in the evening until late.
on site there is a boulangerie and patisserie. Don’t walk past this if you are on a diet!!!!

the camp shop has most basic food stuffs but other food shops are within walking distance or the larger inter marche is one stop away on the bus or train.
it is an ideal camp for use as a sightseeing base as trips are available from the site along with guided walks.
cycle hire is available from the site but only a limited amount. Cycling is a major french hobby so most of the roads have cycle tracks.

the pool has a lifeguard during peak season so there is a charge but you can go in and out as many times in the day as you wish other times when the pool is open it is free.

fishing is allowed in the river that runs through the camp and the sea close by is popular for fishing.

children are well catered for on the site with children’s pool and play area, volley ball, table tennis and a football pitch.

there are two areas to play boules.


amenities and attractions close by

la siesta night club with dancing on the beach is available a short walk from the camp for clubbers but if you arrive back at the camp very drunk beware the staff will supply you with a comfortable chair in which to sober up in before being allowed back on the site!!!!

the parc naturelle is close to the camp for those who like to walk.

aquapark, marine land and antibes land are all within walking distance. The tourist information centre outside the camp can give leaflets and information about special offers.

biot golf course has 18 holes and has breathtaking views of the area. Taxis are available from the site and clubs can be hired. Easy jet usually allows you to bring sports equipment.


travel and sightseeing

easy jet fly to nice airport approx 20 mins away and airport pick up is available from our managers. The easy jet cut price flights start in dec for the following year. The earlier you book the cheaper it is. I don’t mind you ringing me to check if the caravan is available before you book..

the best months for sight seeing and walking are march, april, may, june and september. July and august are very hot and are for those people who like the pool, beach and going out in the evening.
biot station is on the main road outside the camp and trains run very frequently up and down the coast as far as italy.
there are also frequent bus services from outside the camp to biot village and all the towns along the coast so a car is not essential.

the late night noctebus services run peak season.

the trip to italy from the site is recommended for those who like a bargain. Cheap alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, leather bags, shoes and fancy goods are available from the world’s largest market (don’t be afraid to haggle) and liquor shops. Also worth visiting is the italian indoor market. The afternoon is spent in menton famous for its lemon and an orange trees as it has its own micro climate – take your swimming costume the beach is lovely.

antibes is a short bus journey away (1 euro) or one stop on the train. Antibes has a harbour, sandy beaches and a fort. Picasso museum is in antibes. Thursday morning market is not to be missed. This is your chance to try all the food produce and buy essential oils, home made cake and jam or be more adventurous and try the other local produce.

the clothes market in antibes is also a favourite but get there early thursday morning it is shut by 1pm.

biot is a medieval village close by either walk, take the bus or get a taxi from the site 5 euros return. First class restaurants or cheap and cheerful the food is always good. Stop to watch the glass blower. The best value glass is opposite the ice cream parlour the lady in charge speaks english.

in most shops and restaurants people speak english but if you tell them you would like to practice your french they will help you. The french are a very polite race so learn to say bonjour and merci at least and that will be appreciated.
