Description

Carefully restored half of a countryhouse on the edge of guzzano, a lovely hamlet of the lucca area, at 5 km from the spa-town bagni di lucca. Casa ciesa al numero 4 comprises three levels, is about 105 sm and can accommodate up to 6 persons. On the ground floor, a bright living room with fireplace, a separate wc+washing machine under the stairs and a lovely kitchen with spectacular views on the surrounding hills and mountains. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with original beds. On the last floor we have a garret with original low doors (160 cm. High), which comprises two perfectly inhabitable rooms, i.e. A "fairy" bedroom with twin beds and a bath with shower. At the house entrance there is a sunny yard with table and chairs and by crossing the small road you will find an exclusive garden (700 sm) equipped with garden furniture, which offers stunning views over the adjacent valley. In our holiday house you will find as well: books, tourist brochures.
casa ciesa al numero 4 is located on the edge of a tiny village of 100 hinabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. Cars can be parked within our property or in case of medium-large ones on the village main square at about 150 m asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.

bagni di lucca (at 5 km from our village), is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, chemist, supermarkets, etc.) and a beautiful spa, beloved destination of artists like byron, shelley, puccini, metternich and radestsky. Traces of this glorious past are to be found in its monuments: the english church, the catene bridge, the spa, the villas, the casino, etc. The casino was the first gambling house to be opened in europe. It was closed in the 19th century, but during the last years it has been perfectly restored and reopened as a wonderful location for parties and wedding receptions. The town has a couple of good trattorias, where you can taste our traditional cuisine based on simple ingredients like mushrooms, chestnuts, sausages, stakes etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the hills around our property, full of churches and roman parishes: s.pietro in corsena, pieve and san cassiano di controne, montefegatesi, casabasciana and vicopancellorum. Nearby, borgo a mozzano and the maddalena bridge, better known as the devil’s bridge, the little canyon orrido di botri, the garfagnana villages, barga with its typical historical centre, coreglia antelminelli and its museum of plaster figures and emigration are just a few of the places worth a visit. Lucca (25 km), pisa (50km) and the close tyrrhenian coast, (or versilia-viareggio beaches, 40km) offer further opportunities for food, culture and activity! Closest airports: pisa (psa; 50 km) or florence (flr; 85 km). Clostest train station: bagni di lucca/fornoli (10 km). Daily bus service from guzzano (our village) to lucca (about 30 min. Drive).

625 euros/ jul, aug. 535 euros/ jun, sep. 465 euros/ apr, may, oct. required minimum stay: 2 nights; 1 week, sat/sat, jul/aug. Small pets on request in *casa ciesa nr.4 for 2 persons. Prices are per week or night per property and include: taxes, bed linen, blankets, bath towels, kitchenware, sat-tv, log fire, cleaning (weekly), electricity, gas, water, washing machine. Free cot/highchair: pls. Ask availability before arrival. Extras: laundry service, extra single/couch bed, dinner, heating. Heating costs: 15 euro per property, per day. (to be paid onsite). Small pets: 40 euro/week. a deposit equal to 30% of the total rent, in euro, by wire transfer or credit card through paypal, paid net of all bank or paypal charges, is due to confirm your reservation. Balance: cash (euro), on arrival. Our holiday house is available for check-in only by appointment, after 4 pm. As we do not have a 24-hour desk, we ask that, whenever possible, all check-ins occur before 7pm. Check out time is at 11am. A booking confirmation with directions and a map of the village will be emailed to you after receipt of your deposit.
